Eyelid Lift Before and After Photos
It is often said that the eyes are the windows to your soul. Well, we all want to have lovely eyes that show that we are alert and appear restful. However, eyes that are puffy or appear swollen may not reflect a vibrant inner self. Dr. Paul Blair performs the cosmetic procedure which can give you dramatically younger eyes through “eyelid lifts”, also known as the lower eyelids surgery or lower lid blepharoplasty.
A reason for “tired eyes” is because of bulging or migrating eyelid fat. This fat is held back by a thin wall of fibrous tissue called the orbital septum, which sags over time. The fat, held firmly back by this wall in youth can bulge with age, giving you “baggy” lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty trims this extra fat and tightens the wall, restoring a youthful contour.
For those patients with puffiness under the eye or baggy lower eyelids, the fat in the lower eyelids can be removed or repositioned through an incision hidden on the inner surface of the eyelid. Laser resurfacing or a chemical peel can be performed at the same time if desired, to smooth and tighten the lower lid skin. If there is excessive skin in the lower lid, the incision is made just below the lashes. Fat can be removed or repositioned through this incision, and the excess skin removed. The incision is then closed with fine sutures.
Recovery from eyelid surgery is within seven to ten days. A small amount of lumpiness is usual at the corners of the eyes. Minimal blurry vision quickly resolves. Sunglasses allow you to go out in public immediately after surgery, and make-up can be worn within a few days. Normal activity can be resumed the next day, and exercise can be resumed within 10-14 days after surgery.
